Garcia Design, Inc. provided landscape architecture services and permit support for streetscape improvements to the Eleventh Street Corridor in East Austin. The project includes renovation of sidewalks, relocation of utilities, new trees, new bus stops, signage, and monuments to create a pedestrian friendly environment to compliment the renewal of the neighborhood. Sub-consultant to Urban Spaces Design Group, Inc. (San Antonio office).

Mr. Garcia was project manager for the renovation of Hay Street. Improvements include: widened sidewalks, shade trees, lighting, seating, a new decorative fountain, information kiosks, and historic displays. As an active "people place," the Transit Mall encourages economic revitalization through the enhancement of downtown's visual character. Consultant to Parsons Brinkerhoff Quade & Douglas- Engineers. For the City of Fayetteville, NC, project was completed while at the office of Paul C.K Lu & Associates.

The ambitious programmatic requirements of this combination central bus transfer facility/ C.B.D. parking deck include meeting the community's transportation needs while introducing the park-like landscape. The resulting structure utilizes sensitive massing, an appropriately historic design vocabulary, a landscaped parking deck, and streetscape improvements to enhance the existing city block.
